America has well and truly fallen in love with One Direction - it's just been revealed that the super-cute boyband have made history by being the first UK band to go straight to number one with their first album.
The only other British export to come close to such an achievement was the Spice Girls, who reached number six in the Billboard chart with Spice back in 1997.
The boys, who came third in the X Factor, tweeted about their success from their official Twitter account yesterday. They wrote: 'Congratulations to One Direction for coming in at #1 on the U.S. @billboard charts. Thank you to all who've been there from day one. 1DHQ X.'
Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson are currently promoting their record over in the US and have been followed by teenage hysteria wherever they go - for one appearance in Toronto, Canada, police were forced to close roads because of the sheer number of fans.
The exciting news comes in the same week that Nickelodeon confirmed they had given One Direction their own TV show.
Their lads' debut album, Up All Night, went to number two in the UK charts in December.
