Olivier Martinez confirms his engagement to Halle Berry

Since she was spotted wearing a ring on her wedding finger, rumours have been swirling that Olivier Martinez had popped the question to girlfriend Halle Berry - and now the French actor has confirmed the two ARE tying the knot!

Martinez was at the opening of his new restaurant Villa Azur in South Beach last night when he confirmed the happy news.

'Yes, of course it's true!' the 46-year-old told The Miami Herald.

Martinez also set the record straight about who designed the emerald sparkler: 'There is a jeweller taking credit for doing the ring and it's a lie,' he said. 'They have nothing to do with this.'

The engagement ring was actually designed by Parisian jeweller Robert Mazlo, whom Martinez called a 'real artist' who made jewellery for 'kings and queens for many centuries.'

The hot couple have been dating since late 2010 after meeting while filming the thriller Dark Tide.

It will be Halle's third marriage after failed relationships with former baseball star David Justice and soul singer Eric Benét.

She also has a three-year-old daughter, Nahla, with ex-boyfriend Gabriel Aubry, although the pair are in the middle of a bitter custody battle.
