Oscar-winning actor Nicolas Cage was arrested on a domestic violence charge over the weekend, according to reports.
It’s thought the inebriated star – described by onlookers as ‘very drunk’ was involved in loud argument with wife Alice over the address of an apartment they were renting in New Orleans, after returning from a night out.
‘Cage and his wife were standing in front of a property he believed they were renting,’ celebrity website TMZ reports. ‘She disagreed, and he grabbed her by the arm to pull her to the correct address.’
Reports suggested the couple’s taxi driver called police, who the actor then taunted to take him into custody.
‘Why don't you just arrest me?’ the drunken actor allegedly said.

It’s thought the police eventually did arrest the badly behaved actor, who spent the night in a cell, before being released on bail.
It’s thought the wife of the star – who was previously married to Lisa Marie Presley and Patricia Arquette will not be pressing charges.
This is just the latest in a long line of public outbursts from the troubled National Treasure star.
Last year a tape of the star ranting to aids on the set of his upcoming movie was released and he was also involved in a bar fight in New Orleans last month.
