Nick Grimshaw chats about landing his 'dream' job as Radio 1's breakfast show host
It's been a mad 48 hours for Nick Grimshaw, who was announced as Chris Moyles' replacement on Radio 1's breakfast show host yesterday, and he's been chatting for the first time about landing his dream job.
Grimmy, 27, who is mates with the likes of Kate Moss, Lily Allen and Pixie Geldof, revealed that the breakfast show job 'has been a dream of his' since he was eleven.
The DJ also said that when he was called into a meeting by Radio 1 controller Ben Cooper and told of his promotion he thought he was in trouble.
He stated: 'I found out yesterday morning. I thought I was in trouble with Ben. So I went in and I was complaining that I got up early. And he's like, "Well, you're going to have to start getting up a little bit earlier".'
He added: 'We were going to put it out yesterday, but then they decided not to. Which meant that I couldn't tell anyone for 24 hours, so I couldn't talk to anyone. It's been a weird day.'
Yesterday it was announced that Chris Moyles was standing down as host of the Radio 1 breakfast show after over eight years.
