The newsreader has decided it's time to move on, two weeks after her second stint of maturnity leave in two years
Natasha Kaplinsky is ditching her job on channel Five - despite being the highest paid newsreader on UK screens - just weeks after returning from her second stint of maternity leave in as many years. The newsreader signing a lucrative million pound deal with the channel when she joined back in 2007, but since then has spent just 252 hours on screen.
The glamorous jouralist was rumoured to take a £300,000 pay cut last year to spend more time at home with her son, before going on maternity leave when she was pregnant with her daughter.
A source told the paper: ‘Natasha made her decision to leave only recently. It is by mutual agreement, but the new direction of Five is not for her.
‘She has been meeting other broadcasters and is excited about the future and a few possible deals.’
Natasha’s contract ends in December, and she’s said to have already been in talks to appear on Sky.
