Natalie Portman splits from Devendra Banhart

Natalie Portman has ended her relationship with musician boyfriend Devendra Banhart.

The 27-year-old actress started dating the rocker last year, after starring in his video Carmensita.

As a fan of his music, she had approached him to donate one of his songs to a charity compilation she was creating for iTunes, and in return, she starred in his video.

The couple went public with their relationship early last year, attending the Cannes Film Festival together in May, and were often spotted hand-in-hand wandering in New York.

Neither Portman or Banhart are yet to comment on the break-up, although a source close to the singer told US magazine In Touch Weekly, 'Yes, they have broken up. Natalie and Devendra will remain friends but need some space and time away.'
