5 Must-See Moments From The Christian Dior Couture Show

The one where J-Law face-palmed Emma Watson… in couture.
Whoever said couture was dead? As new reports out this week say the average haute customer is getting younger, Christian Dior's AW14 presentation last night proved that the excruciatingly expensive (but totally exquisite) art form is having a thoroughly modern moment, with futuristic spins on heritage silhouettes and an injection of LOL-along awesomeness from some of Hollywood's hottest young A-listers. Here's our round-up of the action...
Jennifer Lawrence Face-Palmed Emma Watson... J-Law’s photo-bombing obsession reached new heights when she pie-splatted Emma after a friendly posing session. 'Established' couture-show-goers will have been slightly mortified (we must respect the codes, after all). But, as any true Tribute knows, it’s simply about eliminating the competition at any given opportunity.

150,000 Diorchids Lined The Walls... Let’s talk flowers. Yes, 150,000 of them - all orchids, all in Dior white (that's a real colour) and arranged to cover every facet of the show space by blume boy extraordinaire Mark Colle. Definitely not garage-bought then.
Newly-Wed Olivia Palermo Went Shopping For Wedding Dress Number Two ... Because last week’s 'subtle' civil ceremony was just the opening act before a ‘much bigger’ affair in the coming weeks, Olivia was on the look out for a haute new meringue. And there were plenty to choose from here - luxe satins arranged in structured pleat skirts make for a cool take on the house's classic New Look silhouette. And all so beautifully hand-embellished. We know Olivia loves to put her own spin on wedding traditions, so one of these would be just the job.
Sean Penn And Charlize Theron Looked Rock-Star Cool... The shades, the sequins, the casual PDAs. Does it get any more glam than this?

And Don't Forget The Clothes... Stunning tilt-hem gowns, delicious off-kilter colour combos and all-round exquisite embellishments. And in honour of fashion's new-found passion for haute sportswear (Dior's hand-crafted trainers have just been released, remember) there were silks mimicking classic performance-polyester in trackie-like trouser shapes, given an extra luxe twist with fine silver zip details.
