It was the place it all began for Amy Winehouse, a place where the troubled singer could be recognised for her incredible vocal talent alone, so it is only fitting that this year's MOBO awards plays tribute to the late star.
The late Rehab singer is set to receive a posthumous award at this year's ceremony in Glasgow on October 5th, which will also include a star-studded tribute to the singer with the likes of Jessie J and Katy B performing a medley of her songs.
A show insider told The Mirror: “In many ways Amy began her career at the MOBOs. Even before she was famous she would perform acoustically at their launch parties. We are working out a way for her to be remembered during the show itself in terms of artists performing her songs and it’s quite possible there will be an award.”
Amy won Best UK Female at the MOBO Awards in 2007 not long after her Black To Black album was released.
Since her tragic death last month, tributes have been flooding in from her fans and the likes of Kayne West and Coldplay have performed her hits at festivals and concerts.
Fred Perry recently confirmed that the two fashion collections that Amy designed for the brand will, with her family's blessing, be released post humously. All royalties from the collection are to be donated to the soon-to-be established Amy Winehouse Foundation- a charity set up by her father to help drug addicts.
