These celebrity Lip Sync Battles are always a LOL, but when you get a comedy queen like Melissa McCarthy involved, you better believe she’s going to pull out all the stops.
Taking on TV presenter Jimmy Fallon for two rounds of the US karaoke contest, Melissa’s video has gone viral thanks to its, shall we say, theatrical nature.
Her track of choice? Colours Of The Wind, from Pocahontas, an excellent selection by anyone’s standards.
‘I’m obviously going to close with a song from the Pocahontas soundtrack,’ Melissa explained to the bemused crowd as she put on some protective goggles.
Why the goggles? Because she was going all out with a wind machine, as glitter, leaves and a whole assortment of other, well, colours of the wind, hit her full pelt.
It was, at points, totally elegant, as our Disney heroine swirled around the stage in a whirlwind of faux autumn foliage. At other points, we saw the new diva getting knocked down, close range, by stuffed animals, water, and various other elements. She certainly stays true to the essence of the movie, right? Even a pet raccoon flies through the air at one point.
