Meghan Markle has just made royal history yet again

Yaaaas Queen! (Or, you know, Duchess)
We love when the royals make history (like Princess Charlotte after the birth of her brother), and when it comes to the royal family, Meghan Markle is the queen of bucking tradition.
Her marriage to Prince Harry has brought modernity to the royal family in the best way – as she is American, a divorcée, an actress and a woman of colour – and she is constantly breaking royal tradition with her outfit choices.
Obviously, we love her for it – but the duchess has just added to her list of firsts, this time relating to her past career as an actress.
Meghan has just been submitted for consideration for this year's Emmy Awards, for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series, in recognition of her work on legal drama Suits.
Her fellow cast members Patrick J. Adams (who played her onscreen love interest), Gabriel Macht, Rick Hoffman, Sarah Rafferty and Gina Torres have also all been submitted for consideration.
But of course, Meghan's submission makes history this year, as it is the first time a member of the royal family will be considered for the prestigious accolade.

If she goes on to be nominated – and win for that matter – she will naturally make history again, and again.
Here's hoping we get to see even more of her tradition-breaking when the Duke and Duchess of Sussex go on their first royal tour later this year.
The pair will visit Australia, New Zealand, Fiji and Tonga in Autumn, and we can't wait to see the pictures.
Is there anything Meghan Markle can't do? We think not...
