You've got until November to get excited
Meet Moana, Disney's latest princess, who has got people (including some of us way over the target age range) really, really excited.
Following in the footsteps of Tangled and Frozen, Moana is a story about a princess who takes destiny into her own hands and goes on an epic adventure. Which makes a nice change from the kind who sit around waiting for things to happen. Moana is the first Polynesian princess in the Disney franchise and fans worldwide have responded with excitement to Disney's increased diversity.
So just what is the film all about? Well, we'll let Disney explain: 'Three thousand years ago, the greatest sailors in the world voyaged across the vast South Pacific, discovering the many islands of Oceania. But then, for a millennium, their voyages stopped — and no one today knows why.
'A sweeping, CG-animated adventure about a spirited teenager who sails out on a daring mission to prove herself a master wayfinder and fulfil her ancestors’ unfinished quest. During her journey, she meets the once-mighty demi-god Maui (voice of Dwayne Johnson), and together, they traverse the open ocean on an action-packed voyage, encountering enormous fiery creatures and impossible odds.'
Anyone got a child we can borrow for a cinema trip?
Moana is released on the 23rd of November 2016
