Despite the phenomenal success of the 10-season sensation that was Friends, it's probably fair to say that its six leading stars have had, well, mixed success since they left those giant coffee cups behind them in Central Perk.
Recall the spin-off series Joey anyone? It hardly set our screens on fire. But never fear Friends fans, because, whether or not we ever eventually get a Friends movie, Matt LeBlanc is definitely set to hit our screens once again doing exactly what he does best, and making us laugh. (Hopefully.)
Okay, so his ‘character' is hardly going to be a massive departure from the norm.
No, he's not going to be playing our favourite Tribbiani, but he will be taking on the role of the next best thing: himself!
Matt is to play the lead in new comedy series Episodes - a non-too-serious satire about the fickle world of TV. The synopsis? A British couple's hit UK show is turned into a farce when it airs stateside, with Matt LeBlanc (played by Matt LeBlanc) being cast as the lead. And with Friends co-creator David Crane, and Mad About You producer Jeffrey Klarik at the helm, we're hoping it's a recipe for success.
'I am so glad I got the part,' Matt has said. 'Seeing someone else playing Matt LeBlanc would have been devastating.'
