Margot Robbie takes the lead role in feminist Robin Hood
This is SO exciting

When you think of the live action version of Robin Hood, the names that probably come to mind are Kevin Costner or Russell Crowe thanks to their portrayals of the loveable outlaw.
But the literary hero is about to be replaced by a badass heroine in the upcoming feminist version of Robin Hood, led by none other than Margot Robbie.
Margot is set to pick up the role of Maid Marian, but far from being a damsel in distress needing to be rescued by Robin, Margot’s Marian is going to be her own saviour.
Sound good? We thought so too.
The film will follow Marian after the death of her lover, Robin, and we will see her with her own band of merry men (or merry women, perhaps?).

According to The Hollywood Reporter, she will continue with Robin’s cause – you know, the whole steal from the rich to give to the poor thing – and ultimately the fate of the kingdom will rest on her shoulders, leading her to become a legend in her own right.
Who better for the job than Margot Robbie, the Suicide Squad baddie that brought Harley Quinn to worldwide legendary status last year? Everyone knows at least one person who donned pink and blue pigtails for Halloween, and that’s the true sign a fictional character has made it.
(That, and the fact that only a handful of people were brave enough to shave their heads à la Eleven in Stranger Things.)
We cannot wait to see how Margot puts her own spin on the classic, and we’ll be the first in the queue when Marian hits the cinemas.
