The multi-millionaire supermodel is asking for the huge sum for the care of her four-year-old son
How much?! Supermodel Linda Evangelista is demanding a whopping $46,000 (£28,000) per month in child support from the father of her son, French businessman Francois-Henri Pinault.
The Canadian model appeared in a New York court yesterday to claim the huge child maintenance bill for the care of her son, Augustin James, who was born in 2006 under a cloud of secrecy over the paternity of the child.
French billionaire Pinault – who is now married to sultry Mexican actress Salma Hayek– was revealed as the boy’s father last month, and is not believed to have contributed to his son’s upbringing so far.

In what seems like a huge sum of money to most of us, the £28,000 child support per month is small change to Pinault – one of the richest men in France, with an estimated family fortune of £7billion. The Brittany-born entrepreneur is the chairman and chief executive of the luxury goods conglomerate, PPR, which owns the designer fashion brands Gucci, Yves Saint Laurent, Balenciaga, Alexander McQueen and Stella McCartney, as well as sports brand Puma, to name a few.
Evangelista also demanded £4,500 per month for ‘vacation’ expenses. This was (unsurprisingly!) declined by the judge but she's now asking for child support request for 24-hour childcare.

She said: ‘When I work, it can be a 16-hour day. On days when I do not work, I am working on my image; I have to hit the gym. I have beauty appointments. I have to work toward my next job and maintaining my image, just like an athlete.’
However, it’s understood that despite his wealth Pinault is fighting the claims demanded by his former lover – herself, worth around £5million.
The case continues.
