James Corden seeks approval from Lily Allen's mum
Gavin and Stacey star James Corden must be serious about new girlfriend Lily Allen - he even arranged a lunch date with the singer's mum to seek her approval.
James, who plays Smithy in the hit BBC Three show, last week admitted the pair were an item, telling the Sunday People: 'Yes, we're together and I'm smitten. She is a great girl - we get on really well and have such a laugh together.'
And this week, James arranged a meeting with the star's mum, film producer Alison Owen, pretending he wanted to talk business.
A source told the Mirror: 'Alison was bemused when James blurted out, "Actually I got you here to talk about Lily". She roared with laughter. She thinks James is a lovely young man and would be delighted if he stepped out with Lily.'
Lily split from Chemical Brothers DJ Ed Simmons in January after she suffered a miscarriage.
