While in Cannes this week, the Oscar-winning actor gifted his mother a Chanel handbag costing $18,000, Page Six reports. The bag in question was being auctioned at the Heart Fund's Generous People Dinner Gala, where Leo snapped it up with his mum, Irmelin Indenbirken, in mind.
It seems bidding for expensive apparel at charity auctions has become somewhat of a tradition for Leo, who won an $11,000 bid for a bag at the same event last year. Again, the bag wasn't for one of his many hot supermodel girlfriends, but for his dear old mother. N'awwww.

It's not the first time Leo has proved how much he loves his mum, having included her in his infamous Oscars speech. 'I want to thank one more person,' he said of his mum. 'I didn't grow up in a life of privilege. I grew up in a tough neighbourhood in east Los Angeles and this woman drove me three hours every day to a different school to make sure I had a different opportunity.'
