The star unveiled her new inking as she stepped out in a one shoulder William Tempest dress at the charity Love Ball on Monday.
The tattoo runs in a straight line from her neck to her back and was clearly visible as she walked the red carpet.
The star chose to style her usually long locks into a side swept, plaited ‘do for the occasion, perfectly displaying her new work of art.
And animal lover Leona is thought to have chosen the new inscription as a tribute to her favourite furry four-legged friends: horses!

The line of writing is reported to be a poetic passage, reading: ‘Their beauty captures every eye, a gift from God for all mankind, they lend us wings so we may fly, to ride a horse is to ride the sky.'
Leona already has one tattoo - a Hebrew inking on her wrist.
And it's said that she liked it so much, she decided to go for a bolder, more visable one this time around.
Lovely Leona's just one of the celebs to opt for an inscription along her spine. Do we spy a new trend emerging?
Victoria Beckham has a tribute to David starting at the nape of her neck, while newly single Cheryl Cole sports a now unfortunate design reading ‘Mrs C' on hers.
