The Girls star loves posing in her underwear - and these pictures are the proof

Lena Dunham it totally comfortable with her body, and her Girls character is naked almost as much as she's clothed.

So it only makes sense that the actress-author, 27, would forgo trousers for the photoshoot for her upcoming book.

The creator of the hit series Girls shared some behind-the-scenes snaps from her shoot via Instagram on Tuesday. In one shot she wears high-waisted leopard-print knickers that only she could get away with. (She pairs them with a hot-pink cropped jumper, natch.)

She also shared a snap of herself lying on the floor in said panties, looking up at the camera.

'Bc serious authors need serious photos...' she captioned the pic. (Yep, that's why we love her.)

In the last shot, Lena shows her softer side, cuddling with her dog while wearing a fuzzy orange top and a pair of olive boy shorts that are actually quite cute.

'Puppy Love - a cozy moment with @officialautumndewilde @rozbeauty @shirleykurata for #notthatkindofgirl author photo shoot,' she wrote.

Lena's quirky shoot perfectly captures her personality and the resulting pictures seem like they'll be just the thing to illustrate her book, Not That Kind of Girl, which is due out in October.

After all, we'd cringe to see a stiff, standard headshot of Lena on her author page.
