With reports doing the rounds she’s set to leave Gossip Girl, Leighton Meester sent the rumour mill into overdrive earlier this week by talking about her exit from the show.
But don’t’ worry, it won’t be just yet. According to reports, Leighton’s plans to walk away from the hit series in 'two more years,' to concentrate on other projects.

Lovely Leighton shot to fame in 2007, stepping onto our screens as Upper East Sider Blair Waldorf in the fashion fabulous show.
And over the last year, Miss Meester has begun to branch out – into both film and music – with reports suggesting she has already told producers she’s ready to move on.
But now it’s thought Leighton will stay for another two years, and work to the end of her planned deal.

‘We're under contract,’ she told E! News of her reasons for staying on the show, adding that she ‘obviously enjoys working on the show and in New York’.
Revealing she’s already preparing for her exit, Leighton explained she enjoyed her stints on latest flicks Country Strong and The Roommate, adding ‘It allows you to be ready for when the show's over.’
This comes just weeks after sulky star Taylor Momsen was reportedly suspended from the show, after her off-screen antics angered staff on set.
'Taylor only does [the show] for the money,' a show insider told Us Magazine at the time.
'She works hard on Gossip Girl but doesn't care about the plot or the other cast members. She treats it like a 9-5. No emotional investment.'
