Kristen Stewart's personal life may be in shambles, but her professional career is booming as the Twilight actress is confirmed to play Peyton Loftis in Lie Down in Darkness, a part coveted by Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence.
ROBERT PATTINSON TALKING TO KRISTEN STEWART AGAIN
New York magazine reports that Stewart has bagged the lead in the indie film adaptation of William Styron's 1951 novel Lie Down in Darkness, which will be directed by Scott Cooper and set in 1950s Virginia.
The lead role of the beautiful and suicidal Peyton Loftis, who lives with her dysfunctional family, has been a dream of Kristen's for some time.
'I want to play Peyton more than anything I can possibly taste or touch in my life. I want to play her so bad,' she said in May.
Kristen wasn't the only one keen to get into the psychologically demanding character's head; Hunger Games star Jennifer Lawrence has also expressed her desire to play Peyton.

'I am obsessed with that part,' she told W Magazine. 'I have this feeling of protectiveness over characters I want to play... I worry about them - if someone else gets the part, I'm afraid they won't do it right; they'll make the character a victim or they'll make her a villain or they'll just get it wrong somehow.'
The pressure's on, Kristen!
