Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart spend NYE on the Isle of Wight

The couple were spotted taking a ferry from Portsmouth to the island for low key New Year's Eve celebrations

After a rather rocky 2012, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart opted to see in the New Year with low key celebrations on the Isle of Wight.

They could have rang in 2013 at numerous glitzy showbiz parties but R-Patz and K-Stew perhaps sent a message to the world when they decided to start the New Year with their own very private celebration.

In a bid to keep their high-profile relationship out of the spotlight, the Twilight actors, who were pictured taking the ferry from Portsmouth to the island, retreated to the small town of Ventor with just a handful of friends.

Having spent Christmas with their own families, Rob, 26, and Kristen, 22, were reunited in London where they were last spotted by fans getting off the Underground at London Victoria on December 29.

One excited fan took to twitter, writing: 'Just sat next to Robert Pattinson and christen Stewart on the tube oh my god.' (sic)

After the fan was bombarded by other fans asking for details, she also tweeted: 'we got off at London Victoria and was standing in between them two in the escalators she was with her American pals (sic)'.
