So here's how Andy Murray fooled the nation into thinking he'd proposed to Kim Sears on Twitter...
Andy Murray successfully made the Internet swoon yesterday, as he announced his engagement to longterm girlfriend Kim Sears. But before the nation starts picking out Wimbleon-themed wedding hats, the Tennis champ had a confession to make.
'I'm not getting married(yet),' Andy Murray wrote on his Twitter account. Sending the Maire Claire office into an instant strop.
But nevermind how we took the bad news, we can't help but wonder what Kim Sears was thinking. We're guessing she wasn't exactly over the moon with her man's failed Twitter proposal...
The post in question came during a live Q&A session with the Scottish tennis star yesterday afternoon. 'We are getting married just after Wimbledon, should be a great day,' he wrote to one fan.
News of Andy Murray and Kim Sears' engagement quickly surged around the Internet, before Andy brought everything crashing down. Oops.
'I would have hoped that, by now, you would know that that isn’t probably the way I would go about doing something like that,' he confirmed to a small group of reporters on Wednesday. 'I wouldn’t do it on social media or in front of a TV camera. It’s weird.'

It looks like Andy's humorous tone didn't quite come off in his joking tweet. Soz, Kim Sears.
Although we're sure the court-side beauty will be the first to know if and when Andy Murray does decide to pop the question for real.
