Kim Kardashian celebrated turning 35 yesterday as only Kim Kardashian would. She threw a ‘pregnant Kim’ themed fancy dress party, but of course.

Yes, really, husband Kanye West organised the surprise do, asking all of the reality star’s friends and family to dress in their favourite Kim Kardashian maternity look, spurring some totally genius costumes – hyper-contouring and a floor-length duster coat, anyone?

Fake baby bumps were provided for all guests (including Kris, Kendall, Kylie and Caitlin Jenner, plus Kourtney Kardashian) on arrival, but, alas, no one recreated that Givenchy tapestry moment from the 2013 MET Ball.

‘My husband never ceases the amaze me!’ Kim said after the party. ‘He rented out the entire movie theatre to screen the new Steve Jobs (It's sooooo good BTW) and had all of my family & close friends come dressed up as their best pregnant Kim look (fake baby bumps provided on arrival!)’

Re-acknowledging her recent comments on her second pregnancy, and the fact that she hasn’t enjoyed being pregnant again, Kim added; ‘Not sure if [the party] was to make me feel less huge or just a fun cool theme but I loved it & had the best time ever, feeling so very comfortable eating churros with a bunch of pregnant women! Just what I needed, the perfect chill yummy food birthday!!!!’

All actually quite cute, if Kanye’s intentions were indeed just to make her feel better about herself.

Rounding off the celebrations in true Kardashian style, Kim also posted a list on her website of the 35 things she’s learned before turning 35.

Pearls of wisdom included #9, ‘take photos of everything’ and #24, ‘white flowers go with everything.’

We also rather loved #18, ‘Sometimes, you just have to let North wear her Minnie Mouse outfit to bed.’
