Keira Knightley is engaged to her Klaxons rocker boyfriend James Righton, a spokesman for the British starlet has confirmed.

It's thought the private pair began dating in April last year, although they've only been spotted out and about together a handful of times since.

A representative for the star today spoke to comment: 'I can confirm that Keira is engaged to be married to James Righton.'

But true to form, Keira and her lucky beau refused to give away any more details.

It's thought the pair were hooked up by a mutual friend – none other than fashionista Alexa Chung – and hit it off straight away.

'She’s extremely happy right now and really enjoying spending time with James,' one source told the Mirror at the time of Keira and James’s budding romance.

'He’s a real rocker and a lovely guy with it and she likes that whole scene – lately she’s become far more rock and roll and has been hanging out with a really trendy crowd.'

Keira split with actor Rupert Friend back in January, following a five-year relationship.
