Katy Perry sizzles at first red carpet appearance since Russell Brand split

The singer braved the red carpet for the first time since Russell Brand announced they're headed for divorce

Katy Perry took the plunge this weekend and made her first red carpet appearance since the news of her and Russell Brand's split emerged.

The One That Got Away singer hit the town at The Mirage Hotel's new 1oak nightclub in Las Vegas for a charity event, which was raising money for Patricia Arquette's charity website, GiveLove.org.

The 27-year-old put her recent heartbreak to one side, threw on a pair of vertiginous heels and took to the red carpet to support her jewellery designer friend Markus Molinari.

Katy even tweeted from the event, writing: 'Happy to be supporting my best friend @MDMOLINARI & his j.molinari jewelry w/all my other besties in #VEGAS for a great cause @GiveLoveOrg. (sic)

The star showed her estranged husband, Brand, exactly what he's missing in a curve-hugging, embellished Little Black Dress and her bright blue tresses cut into a sleek bob.

And the gorgeous singer's first single outing didn't go unnoticed by another celebrity guest at the bash - fellow attendee Paris Hilton was clearly taken with Katy's sexy look and used Twitter to show her appreciation.

She wrote: 'Katy Perry looking gorgeous across the room. Love her hair & dress! Stunning!'
