Katie Holmes gets close to Mania Days co-star Luke Kirby on the set of the Spike Lee directed flick

Katie Holmes leans in for a kiss with her handsome co-star Luke Kirby as she shoots scenes in New York for the Spike Lee directed flick, Mania Days.

In the film Katie plays a manic depressive poet who gets pregnant by Luke's erratic rapper character after the two meet in a psychiatric hospital and begin a romance that 'brings out all of the beauty and horror of their condition.'

As the cameras rolled, a dressed down Katie looked at ease as she shared romantic moments with her male co-star, but in between takes the ex-wife of Tom Cruise wrapped her arms around herself, braving the New York chill in a cosy cardigan.

Mania Days, which was shot just a few blocks from where Katie used to live with her ex-husband Tom, is expected to hit cinemas in 2014.
