If you've ever wondered what a rom-com queen does next, you should probably buy Marie Claire's August issue where the Hollywood star exclusively reveals what she's been up to while on hiatus from Hollywood.
Katherine Heigl had us hooked as Dr. Izzie Stevens in Grey's Anatomy and dished out the LOLs in Knocked Up and 27 Dresses. After a self-imposed break from Hollywood, she's going back to her roots with a major new TV show, State of Affairs, hitting US TV screens in the autumn.
Talking exclusively to Marie Claire, Katherine said: 'I had an amazing time. I love romantic comedies. But maybe I hit it a little too hard. I couldn’t say no. I stopped challenging myself. It became a bit by rote and, as a creative person, that can wear you down. That was part of why I took that time off, to ask myself, ‘What do I want? What am I looking for?’ and shut down all the noise.'
