Kate Winslet wed in secret during an intimate ceremony held in New York earlier this month

Kate Winslet has married boyfriend Ned Rocknroll in a secret ceremony in New York and was given away by her former co-star and long-term friend, Leonardo DiCaprio .

The British actress’ spokesperson revealed the news telling MailOnline: ‘I can confirm that Kate Winslet married Ned Rocknroll in NY earlier this month in a private ceremony attended by her two children and a very few friends and family.

‘The couple have been engaged since the summer.’

In fact, the wedding was such a covert affair not even the couple’s parents were aware of the nuptials. Ned’s father told The Sun, ‘It’s not something I know of – but nothing surprises me with these two.’

And what a surprise it was! This wedding will be Kate Winslet’s third and we hope it will also be the lucky one for the stunning star and her husband, Ned, who is the nephew of Sir Richard Branson and works on the space-travel branch of the Virgin empire.

Kate split from her first husband, Jim Threapleton in 2001 after three short years together before having her first secret wedding. She married her second husband, Skyfall director, Sam Mendes in a clandestine ceremony in 2003 in the Caribbean with only three friends and her daughter, Mia, present.

And it appears Kate prefers intimate affairs seeing she invited just a handful of guests to her third wedding.
