It’s time to face facts — Jack and Rose had so much chemistry that it’d be surprising to hear that Kate Winslet and Leonardo DiCaprio didn’t develop feelings for each other at some point. But according to Winslet, no — the two main stars of the Titanic cast never crossed that line. Well, they could have fooled us.
As a ton of us had crushes on both of them throughout childhood, it baffles us that Winslet never really saw DiCaprio as a romantic option. But in her eyes, she finds it pretty fortunate that they’re just friends. The Kate Winslet Leonardo DiCaprio Titanic lovestory was strictly kept onscreen.
'Luckily, and this is the fortunate thing, we never fancied each other,' she said on ITV’s Lorraine talk show.
'I know that’s really annoying to hear, sorry, but we really never did.'

In her eyes, it could have been the fact that filming the movie was intense. At the time of filming, DiCaprio was only 22 years old. Winslet was just a year younger.
These days, Winslet and DiCaprio are still maintaining their amazing friendship. In fact, it’s quite easy to believe the two are romantically linked in secret based on their closeness, chemistry, and willingness to vacation together.
'We were able to tease each other and we still do,' she said, in regards to their friendship. 'It’s really amazing.'
We’re just kind of glad that both Winslet and DiCaprio are thankful for Titanic for reasons besides the movie being such a huge box office hit — it started up a lifelong friendship that all of us can’t help but admire.
