Kate Middleton is planning to play matchmaker at Prince William's 30th birthday party, and has set her heart on finding her single sister Pippa Middleton a date, according to reports.

Pippa, who has had a string of high-profile romances she she stepped into the spotlight as the Duchess of Cambridge's sister, recently hit the headlines when she was caught partying just a little too hard in Paris.

Now it's thought Kate is desperate for her to settle down, and thinks bagging Pippa the perfect man is the first place to start.

'Kate thinks that if Pippa focuses on a new romance it'll calm her down,' one insider told Now.

'So she's planning on playing cupid by inviting a number of her single male friends to Wills' birthday bash.'

After spending so much time away from her husband this year, after he took an RAF tour to the Falklands, it's thought the Duchess of Cambridge is planning to 'pull out all the stops' by arranging a surprise party for Prince William's 30th birthday.

According to insiders, Kate's been in contact with William's closest friends and enlisted them to help her plan the super-secret event.

'Kate really wants to make Wills' birthday one to remember,' one insider told Now, adding that she's 'pulling out all the stops,' to make it special.

And now Kate it seems has another project on her hands: finding the perfect partner for Pippa.

The Duchess's 28-year-old sister split with long-term love Alex Loudon back in November, amid reports the ex-sports star struggled to cope with her life in the spotlight.
