Kate Middleton To Name Baby After Royal Family Member?

Kate Middleton is reportedly considering naming her firstborn after a member of the Royal Family

Kate Middleton has already revealed she's having a hard time choosing a name for her royal baby, admitting to well-wishers during a visit last week it's 'very difficult' to decide.

Now it's thought the Duchess of Cambridge has turned to the royal family for name inspiration, and is considering christening the baby Phillip, after Prince William's grandfather The Duke of Edinburgh.

'The name Philip is in the frame for a boy. It will certainly have it somewhere in his name,' one source told the Daily Star.

The insider added that if Kate Middleton did have a boy, Prince William would make the final decision on a name.

But what else is on their shortlist?

As well as Phillip, Kate's rumoured favourites include Victoria, Diana and Elizabeth.

Meanwhile, bookmakers are offering odds of 12/1 on Frances, Mary or George, with Anne and Louis close behind.

During an official visit to Scotland last week, Kate told onlookers she and William had drawn up a shortlist of names, but were finding it hard to whittle it down.

'We have a shortlist for both (a boy and girl), but it’s very difficult,'s Kate said. 'My friends keep texting me names.'

Yesterday it was reported Prince William wants to film Kate Middleton's royal baby birth, although insiders say the Duchess isn't keen.

‘Deep down she’s [Kate Middleton] dreading the idea of a recording being in existence and then getting into the wrong hands,' a source revealed.
