Kate Middleton To Dress Her Baby Bump In Gucci For Final Engagement?

Kate Middleton has dressed her growing bump in Topshop and Jenny Packham – but we think she'll opt for something slightly different for her final public outing

Kate Middleton will show off her baby bump in public for the very last time next week, at the launch of a new cruise liner in Southampton.

The Duchess of Cambridge has been named the ship's Godmother and will take part in the naming ceremony of 'Royal Princess' at what is thought to be her very last moment in the spotlight before the royal baby arrives.

While the event itself is enough to make headlines, what we're really interested in is Kate Middleton's final pregnancy style statement.

So, what will she wear?

The Duchess has dressed her growing baby bump in a selection of to-die-for outfits, from both the high street and the industry's biggest fashion houses.

On Tuesday, Kate Middleton wore a bespoke delicate daisy lace dress with silver grey ribbon detail and a soft peach silk shantung jacket by British designer, Jenny Packham. She accessorised her look with a Jane Taylor cocktail hat with birdcage veiling, a pair of her trusty L.K. Bennett court shoes and a mini box clutch.

She's also been seen wearing a custom-made Emilia Wickstead dress and coat at the Buckingham Palace Garden Party, a Topshop monochrome polka dot dress for her Warner Bros. Studio Tour – while during Children's Hospice Week, she opted for an apricot dress by a private dressmaker with a bright peach coat by Canadian designer, Tara Jarmon.

Marie Claire's Junior Fashion Editor, Lucia Debieux, doesn't think it'll be another Emilia Wickstead creation, as the Duchess has worn plenty of the designer's dresses during her pregnancy.

She says: 'Looking back over outfits Kate Middleton has worn through her pregnancy, I think she may surprise us all by dropping a new designer in the mix – but in the trusted a-line shape she's been favouring throughout.

'Maybe a piece from French designer Carven, who are well-known for their dresses – or a custom-made piece from Gucci, who had a lot of block coloured a-line shapes at the S/S12 show.'

Gucci's collection featured bright, zingy cools in hot pinks, ocean shades of blue and green.

The Duchess of Cambridge has taken to having the majority of her outfits custom-made to accommodate her growing bump, so it's likely that Thursday's outfit – when Kate Middleton will be almost eight months pregnant – will be no different.

Either way, we're betting our entire court shoe collection she nails it. Again!
