As he walked along the specially themed green carpet he couldn’t help but miss his wife saying: ‘Kate would have loved to have been here.’

She was scheduled to support the film along with her husband and draw attention to the event’s charity, The Cinema and Television Benevolent Fund that supports industry employees during times of hardship.
The Duke of Cambridge arrived at 6.45pm to ensure he didn’t take any attention away from film’s stars who included Cate Blanchett, Elijah Wood and Sir Ian McKellan.
The cinema’s general manager, Tessa Street who welcomed the royal, told Mail online: ‘I passed on my best wishes to Kate and he [Prince William] said “She would have loved to have been here if she could.”’
