Kate Middleton slammed by US chat show host for being 'too thin'

The Duchess' weight was criticised by presenter Katie Couric during an interview to promote her new TV show

Kate Middleton has come under criticism for her slim frame before, with US TV host Katie Couric the latest to slam her for being 'too thin'.

The presenter made the comments during an interview to promote her new chat show, Katie, in response to a question about who her dream guest would be.

She said: 'I think it would be really interesting to interview Kate Middleton because I think she has comported herself so well since she has been thrust into the limelight.'

So far, so nice. But she went on to add: 'Although, I think she needs to eat more because she's too thin.'

It's not the first time that the Duchess of Cambridge's weight has been called into question. Kate reportedly lost up to a stone and dropped from a dress size eight to a six in the lead-up to her marriage to Prince William last year in order to look her best on her wedding day. According to reports, she stuck to the strict Dukan Diet to slim down her already svelte figure.

Couric has enjoyed access to the British royal family before, interviewing the likes of Prince William and Harry during her time as a reporter for TV network ABC, as well as meeting the Queen at a garden party at Buckingham Palace earlier this year during the Diamond Jubilee celebrations. Yet, something tells us she can kiss that 'dream' interview with Kate goodbye!
