Kate Middleton’s wish to ban photos at Christmas Day public appearance are ignored

Kate Middleton was photographed on the 25th despite her request to the press not to attend

Kate Middleton choose to celebrate Christmas Day privately with her family and Prince William this year away from the prying eyes of the press. In an attempt to stay out of the spotlight, St James’s Palace contacted selected Royal correspondents informing them that the couple wished to spend 25 December privately and there wouldn’t be any photo opportunities.

Unfortunately not all new outlets were given this message and as Kate Middleton attended a family Eucharist and Christmas carols at St Mark’s Church in Englefield, she was photographed unknowingly. The royal was snapped as she walked outside the church with Prince William, siblings James and Pippa Middleton and her parents, Mike and Carole Middleton.

The subsequent images, published in some titles online, showed Prince William, Kate and the Middletons looking suitably relaxed outside the church. Kate was without her trademark bouncy curls and instead she wore her hair in a loose chignon with her fringe framing her face.

While she may have been ‘off-duty’ the royal didn’t let her style slide as she wore a red coat with a red scarf. She looked remarkably well following her hospital stay for acute morning sickness.

Thankfully Kate and William’s wishes were respected after the Palace contacted the press again last night (Tuesday) and insisted that the royal’s appearance should maintain private and requested photos weren’t printed.

We think Kate deserves a day off from the paps too!
