This has got to be a record. The Duchess of Cambridge caused another frenzy yesterday as fans of the royal rushed to buy her £46 maternity dress from a British high street brand...
Kate Middleton's latest wardrobe choice has made more of a style statement than she could ever have imagined. The Duchess of Cambridge made global headlines yesterday when she released personal pictures of herself posing alongside her newborn son and her husband, Prince William, and the dress she wore for the all-important shot has already sold out.
The Duchess looked the picture of perfect health in the intimate picture, which was taken by her father Michael in the Middleton family home in Bucklebury. With newly-dyed dark brown locks, Kate wore a hot pink jersey maternity dress for the official family portrait, a £46 bargain from high street brand, Seraphine. Just two hours after the release of the shots, and the dress had sold out on the store's website.
Cecile Reinaud, founder of Seraphine said she was honoured by Kate's style statement. She said: 'We heard rumours online that an official royal family photo was going to be released imminently, so we were on the look out to see what her next outfit would be and hoped it would be Seraphine. We saw the picture go live online overnight and are absolutely honoured and so happy to see her in another one of our dresses!'
Kate has long been a fan of the Seraphine store. While she was pregnant, she was spotted shopping in the brand's 'Renata' polka dot dress, and when she left Kensington Palace with Prince William and Prince George following her son's birth, she wore the 'Blossom Knot Front Lavender' maternity dress, which also sold out.
Yesterday's hot pink number fitted the Duchess beautifully. But fans of the Fuchsia Knot Front Dress will have to wait for weeks before they can rock the same look. The brand's website says: 'Due to high popularity of this style, please be advised that orders will be dispatched week commencing 16th of September.'
The description reads: 'Featuring a summery shade of vibrant fuchsia and flattering empire line cut, Séraphine’s signature knot front dress is designed to flatter the silhouette before, during and after pregnancy. Silky soft and flowing, the Jolene dress features an intricate knot detail that creates gentle gathers to drape effortlessly over a bump or after-baby curves.
