Kate Middleton’s Baby Shower Deemed ‘Inappropriate’ By Royal Experts

Kate Middleton and her baby won’t be enjoying a pre-birth celebration according to insiders

Kate Middleton will not be having a baby shower despite reports last week that the royal, and her bump, would follow American tradition and invite close friends for a pre-birth gift sharing session.

American network ABC News’s royal expert, Victoria Arbiter, believes the Duchess of Cambridge is more likely to avoid a big event citing it ‘inappropriate’. The correspondent said: ‘[Kate Middleton and Prince William] are clearly very wealthy and a lavish baby shower would be seen as highly inappropriate. There’s nothing they can’t go out and buy themselves.’

Last week a source close to the royals told OK! Magazine that Kate was planning a baby shower and that she’d asked her sister, Pippa Middleton to organise things. It was even thought the Queen might attend.

The source said: ‘While it’s all going to be very relaxed and fun, Kate is hoping the Queen will drop by because the two are remarkably close.

‘They really enjoy each other’s company. Since this is going to be a first for royals, Kate would love the Queen to be part of it.’

Victoria Arbiter also disputed suggestions the Queen would take part in the baby shower, although she did hint there was a small chance Pippa may take on the party planning honours.
