An Australian radio station tricked a nurse into revealing confidential details about Kate Middleton's pregnancy
An Australian radio station has pretended to be the Queen and duped a nurse into revealing confidential details about Kate Middleton's condition and treatment live on the air.
Two presenters from 2Day FM called the King Edward VII Hospital in London pretending to be the Queen and the Prince of Wales, they were put straight through to the Duchess of Cambridge's ward where a nurse unwittingly gave away private information about Kate's stay at the hospital.
Mel Greig pretended to be the Queen while Michael Christian got away as Prince Charles as they pulled the prank.
We won't publish any of the details of the phone call to protect Kate's patient confidentiality, but we can say that when asked by 'the Queen' when would be a good time to visit Kate the nurse said: 'I would suggest that any time after nine o'clock would be suitable, because the doctor will be in in the morning, and will just be getting her freshened up in the morning. I would think any time after nine.'
KATE MIDDLETON FEELING MUCH BETTER AND THANKS PUBLIC FOR THEIR GOOD WISHES
The London hospital, who are clearly mortified at the error, has released the following statement: 'This call was transferred through to a ward and a short conversation was held with one of the nursing staff. King Edward VII's Hospital deeply regrets this incident.'

The hospital's chief executive, John Lofthouse, said: 'This was a foolish prank call that we all deplore. We take patient confidentiality extremely seriously and we are now reviewing our telephone protocols.'
While a spokesman for 2Day FM said: '2Day FM sincerely apologises for any inconvenience caused by the enquiry to Kate’s hospital, the radio segment was done with the best intentions and we wish Kate and her family all the best.'
Prince William, who arrived at the hospital for his daily visit at 12.20, was told about the hoax by his aides.
