Despite one fashion business claiming the 'Kate Middleton effect' ruined them, everything that the Duchess of Wales touches seems to turn to gold.

And it seems it's no different for the person who gives Kate her parenting tips, either.

Prince William and Kate have always bucked the trend when it comes to royal traditions, often ripping up the royal rule book, so it's not unusual to hear that Kate has turned to a parenting book for helpful tips.

The Modern Mother's Handbook: How To Raise A Happy, Healthy, Smart, Disciplined and Interesting Child, Starting From Birth might be an exceptionally long title for a book, but nonetheless the Duchess loved it so much that she publicly endorsed it.

The result? They flew off the shelves instantly, of course.

The author, who prefers to remain anonymous and only goes by the pen name 'a modern old-fashioned mom' told The Daily Mail: 'It's as if Kate gave it a stamp of approval ... so many women look up to the Duchess that I guess they thought if it's good enough for her, it's good enough for me.

'[She's] an extraordinary mum as she is both modern and old-fashioned because she's very hands on.'

It's so refreshing to know that even a royal needs some help with the little ones from time to time.
