Kate Middleton 'not sure' about new hairdo

The Duchess of Cambridge revealed her reservations as her new style was buffeted by the wind in Cambridge yesterday

Kate Middleton may only have debuted her new hairdo earlier this week, but already, the royal has revealed she's not convinced about her new style.

During a visit to her namesake town, Cambridge, the Duchess of Cambridge told one spectator she's 'not sure' she likes her new hairstyle, after getting blown about in the wind.

On a walkabout with Prince William, Kate Middleton stopped to talk to spectator Joanne Baldwin, who said of her royal meeting with Kate: 'I told her I loved her new hair style.'

But is seems the Duchess wasn't so convinced.

'She said: "I'm not sure about it. It's a bit windy today."' Baldwin continued, adding: 'I said don't worry, it looks lovely.'

Kate battled with her new 'do during a visit to Cambridge, where she and Prince William visited the Guildhall in the city, met members of the local community, stopping off Jimmy's, a hostel for the homeless, and attending a reception of Cambridge University students.

The Duchess debuted the subtly different style - a darker version of her trademark glossy locks and a soft, feathery fringe - during a solo engagement at the Natural History Museum, where she opened their new Treasure exhibition.

It's thought Kate Middleton's new face-framing hairstyle, which shows off her shiny tresses to perfection, was the work of Sloane Square hairdresser Richard Ward.

Along with her sweeping new side fringe, the famous hairdresser also appears to have darkened Kate's locks, taking several inches off the length for a shorter style.
