Kate's homemade gift for William was a reminder of 'what's really important'
What do you buy a royal when it comes to birthdays and celebrations? They are already draped in designer outfits, bejewelled with expensive diamonds and dine in the fanciest restaurants. Prince Harry prefers to gift his family with funny presents - just look what he gave the Queen for Christmas - and Kate Middleton once gave Harry a 'Grow Your Own Girlfriend' (before he met Meghan Markle, of course).
The Duchess of Cambridge has received some spectacular gifts from her husband, Prince William, over the years, but as he celebrated his 37th birthday this week she decided not to splash the cash on something luxe. Instead, she opted for something unique that would remind him of 'what's really important'.
According to reports, she put together a scrapbook of family photos, paintings and drawings with the help from her three children, Prince George, Princess Charlotte and Prince Louis. Apparently, she kept the gift at her sister Pippa's house to ensure that William didn't find it.
Very sweet.
A source told The Sun: 'Kate and the children have been compiling a large album of the children’s paintings, drawings and collages and prints. They reflect what they have been doing over the past year. You can look at any event they were involved with as a family, and there will probably be a picture, drawing, print or photo.
'It’s taken a great deal of time and effort to make, and as a present, it means something. You could say it’s a reminder to William about what is really important. It’s been put together with a great deal of care.'
How cute is that?!
