Kate Middleton dresses down to cheer on Team GB

After styling up to watch several events earlier this week, Kate Middleton chose jeans and a t-shirt for last night's outing

Kate Middleton may have styled it up for her Olympic outings so far, but the Duchess of Cambridge chose to dress down last night, to cheer Team GB's Women's Hockey team at the Olympic park.

Arriving alone, Kate took up her place in the stands to watch the team, who she met - and even played with - during a tour of the Olympic park in March.

Dressed in her best off-duty attire, the Duchess proved she's still got her finger on the fashion pulse, rocking a pair of relaxed skinny jeans, a white t-shirt and a sophisticated Smythe blazer, first seen during her tour of Canada last year.

Sadly, even Kate's attendance wasn't enough to help the British team win, and the Duchess looked gutted as the girls lost the match - and their chance of a gold medal, with it.

Although Kate's been out and about countless times since the London 2012 Games began last week, insiders say the Duchess loves nothing more than a night in with hubby Prince William.

One source told Vanity Fair of Prince William and Kate Middleton: 'They've grown out of clubbing and have no interest in parties. They just enjoy being together at home.'

'Kate was on the King's Road not so long ago carrying a shopping bag with chicken in it that she was taking home to cook for William's supper. That's their idea of the perfect night.'

No so far from ours, then. Minus Prince William, obviously.
