Kate Middleton Criticised For Having ‘No Opinions’ By Radio 4’s Sandi Toksvig

Kate Middleton has been criticized by the broadcaster while Cheryl Cole was championed

Kate Middleton is rarely given the opportunity to speak in public but from the rare few times she has, Radio 4 presenter, Sandi Toksvig has derived that the royal does not hold a ‘single opinion.’

In an interview with The Guardian, the comedienne compared the Duchess of Cambridge to a Jane Austen character saying: ‘I can’t think of a single opinion she holds – it’s very Jane Austen.’

And she didn’t stop with one throw away comment either, she continued the controversial theme adding: ‘Kate Middleton is not enough for me. We used to admire women who got their place in life through marriage and having children, but I like to think we’ve grown up a bit.’

While Kate Middleton didn’t escape the broadcaster’s sharp tongue, Cheryl Cole managed to and was in fact praised. The 29-year-old singer was described as ‘one of the few incredibly famous people who still seems to say what they think. I really like that.’

And it is this outspokenness, (that Sandi also has herself) that she finds attractive as she added: ‘I do fancy her [Cheryl Cole] quite a bit.’

The comments come in the wake of the plastic princess debate that began when award-winning novelist Hilary Mantle dunned the Duchess nothing more that a ‘shop-window mannequin’ with a ‘plastic smile.’

After David Cameron stepped in to defend Kate Middleton, the writer justified her comments last week saying her words were taken ‘completely out of context.’

We wonder if Sandi Toksvig will also be forced to defend her words....
