See the shoe Kate picked to wear during the Queen's Jubilee celebrations designed by a student from De Montford University

She is a worldwide style icon who has the ability to clear the high street rails by wearing something once, so it's fair to say Kate Middleton knows a thing or two about fashion.

The Duchess of Cambridge turned fashion judge when she was tasked with choosing a winning shoe design that will eventually be made for her to wear during the Jubilee celebrations.

During a Royal visit to De Montford University, the 30-year-old royal was presented with a shortlist of six shoe designs by students, and after careful consideration Kate made her choice.

The Duchess chose a 19th century inspired royal blue shoe created by Becka Hunt. The delighted 20-year-old student said: 'I really just can't believe it. I'm overwhelmed.

'She came over and said she loved all the designs. I cannot believe I've been chosen.'

The shoes will now be manufactured exclusively for the young royal in time for the highly anticipated Jubliee celebrations this summer.
