Kate Middleton and Prince William will make 'great parents' according to Zara Phillips' husband, Mike Tindall.

Speaking at a Rugby For Heroes, Tindall said he is 'so happy' for the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, who he thinks will make a brilliant mum and dad.

While Kate Middleton and Prince William have already revealed they can't wait to meet their new arrival, the rugby star says the 'whole family' is looking forward to the birth of the royal baby.

'It’s great for them. The whole family is really excited about the baby. I think everyone’s excited,' he said.

'I’m so happy for those two. They’ll be great parents.'

Kate Middleton has been hard at work preparing two homes - one in Kensington Palace and another on the Queen's Sandringham Estate - ahead of the birth.

With her July due date looming ever nearer, Kate has been spied shopping up a storm in London, looking at everything from lighting and fabric samples to baby goodies for her newborn.
