Kate Middleton has moved on from the royal tour of Asia (and the topless photo scandal) and is continuing with her charity work, but this time her visit will be closer to home. With Prince William by her side the Duchess of Cambridge will tour Newcastle next week.
Tyneside will no doubt welcome Kate Middleton with open arms when she arrives next Wednesday (10 October) to begin a tour of the region. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge will be able to relive the sporting success the country had this summer by meeting with people who worked on the Olympics.
The couple will speak to torchbearers, volunteers and event organisers at Newcastle’s Civic Centre.

This will be followed by more meeting and greeting for Kate Middleton and Prince William, first with the Institute of Ageing and Health, who will tell the royals about their scientific research, and then with students with cerebral palsy from Percy Hedley School.
Children from local primary schools will then entertain Kate and William in the picturesque Elswick Park before they spend time with representatives from Gateshead Youth Council which benefits from the Royal Wedding Charitable Gift Fund.

Young people who have been helped by the charity will get a chance to thank the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge before they move to Stockton, Teeside, to visit a drug recovery centre.

The trip will also give Kate Middleton the opportunity to learn more about Action on Addiction, a charity she became patron of earlier this year. Their latest initiative is called M-PACT, Moving Parents and Children Together, which helps to reunite children with parents who are drug users.
And while we applaud Kate’s charity work, we also cant wait to see what she wears as well!
