Kate Middleton and Prince William couldn't hide their joy as Team GB won another gold medal
Kate Middleton and Prince William couldn't contain their excitement as Sir Chris Hoy and Team GB scored another gold medal at the Olympics yesterday, sharing a rare PDA in front of the world's media.
The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, along with Prince Harry, had rushed straight from Wimbledon, where they had been watching Andy Murray in action against Nicolas Almagro for Team GB, to the Veledrome in Stratford to cheer on our great nation's cyclists.
Their efforts at dashing across London certainly weren't in vain as the young Royals witnessed Jason Kenny, Chris Hoy and Phil Hindes beating France, breaking two world records and winning another gold for Team GB, propelling us up to fifth place in the medals table.
The evening was a triumphant one for Sir Chris Hoy who won the sixth medal of his Olympic career, following a bronze in Sydney in 2000, a gold in Athens four years later, and three golds in Beijing that earned him a knighthood. But it was a disastrous night for Victoria Pendleton and Jess Varnish who were disqualified from the team spring after an illegal changeover.
Kate Middleton had changed out of the blue Stella McCartney dress she was seen wearing at the tennis earlier in the day into a more casual Adidas polo shirt and jeans, while her perfectly maintained locks had been swept back into a loose ponytail.
