Coronation Street bosses have invited Kate Middleton and her new royal family to help them open a new street on the show
Kate Middleton and Prince George have been offered starring roles on Coronation Station by the show's bosses, to commemorate the royal birth.
Creative Director John Whiston told The Daily Star he wanted the new family, including Wills, to open a new road on the longest running British TV soap.
He said: 'It would be fantastic to get Kate, William and George there with a pair of tiny baby scissors.'
The media blew up a storm when, in Prince George's unveiling to the world, the newborn boy appeared to have perfected his royal wave. So here's hoping he's already accustomed to those tiny ribbon cutting scissors.
A heavily pregnant Duchess, now an old hand at the tradition, officially opened the Royal Princess Cruise ship earlier this year, but this would be George's first official opening ceremony - though all for the purposes of entertainment.
'The soap has a long historical connection with the Royal Family,' he continued. 'So having the newest arrival on the set would be perfect.'

Prince George, who is yet to be christened himself, would join Prince Charles as a fellow member of the Royal Family to make a cameo appearance on the show, when Charles made his Corrie debut in 2000.
Producers were disappointed when they failed to mention the baby's birth on the show because of speculation over his due date. Eastenders were able to slot the storyline in at the last minute and Coronation Street bosses think a full appearance from the family would comfortably make up for it.
In recent weeks, it's seemed like everything The Duchess touches turns to gold. The Jenny Packham dress that Kate was wearing to present the prince to world crashed the designers website within minutes and her Seraphine maternity dress (for which we only saw her shoulder in William's car) attracted a month long waiting list.
We can only imagine what the pair's rare appearance would do for the long-running soap.
So will Kate Middleton be taking her famous LK Bennett nude wedges to the cobbles? We fear, Mr Coronation Street will have to keep on wishing.
