Kate Beckinsale has landed a major part in the much-talked about new Amanda Knox biopic, according to reports.
The 40-year-old British beauty is set to star in Michael Winterbottom’s controversial thriller, The Face of an Angel, which follows the case of the American student who was famously convicted of the murder of her housemate, Meredith Kercher.
According to Deadline, Kate will play the role of the journalist pursuing the case of the shocking murder trial which took place in Italy back in 2009.
The new sign-up will see the mum-of-one working alongside model Cara Delevingne, who has also bagged a part in the tense biopic. Reportedly set to play a murder suspect, it will be the 21-year-old Cara’s second stint on the silver screen after her minor part in Anna Karenina with Keira Knightley last year.
Kate, who shares 14-year-old daughter Lily Mo with her handsome director husband Len Wiseman, hasn’t been seen on our screens since appearing in last year’s sci-fi blockbuster Total Recall, starring Colin Farrell and Jessica Biel.
But it looks like the brunette beauty's back with a vengeance - as well as her new role in The Face of an Angel, Kate's also gearing up to promote upcoming 2014 thriller Eliza Graves alongside Michael Caine, Sir Ben Kingsley and Jim Sturgess. What a line-up!
