Jennifer Lawrence offers a slice of realism in another outspoken interview, as she tackles negative body image and the word 'fat'. Don't miss the full story...
Jennifer Lawrence has tackled the subject of negative body image, as her latest outspoken interview takes a turn for the incredibly honest.
Talking to American TV show host, Barbara Walters, The Hunger Games star proceeded to say what she REALLY thought about the much-debated subject.
And said what we’re all thinking.
‘Why is humiliating people funny?’ J Law said, turning the questions back.
‘And I get it, I do it too. We all do it,’ she continued. ‘[But] I think the media needs to take responsibility for the effect it has on our younger generation, on these girls that are watching these television shows and picking up how to talk and how to be cool.'
‘So all of the sudden being funny is making fun of the girl that's wearing an ugly dress,' she continued. 'And the word fat! I just think it should be illegal to call somebody fat on TV. I mean, if we're regulating cigarettes and sex and cuss words because of the effect it has on our younger generation, why aren't we regulating things like calling people fat?'

Not one to shy away from voicing her opinions of the media’s impact on body image, Jennifer has previously spoken out against TV shows like E! Fashion Police for its negative digs on celebrity appearances.
'There are shows like 'Fashion Police' that are just showing these generations of young people to judge people based on all the wrong values and that it's OK to point at people and call them ugly or fat, Jennifer told Yahoo! CEO Marissa Meyer.
'We have to stop treating each other like that and stop calling each other fat.'
